Haven’t heard from your child from camp yet? I have a suggestion. Send him or her a School Doodle (click on our store) filled with stamps, pre addressed envelopes, paper and pencils.
Mothers, buy rubber stamps and a stamp pad so your child can be creative. A few paperbacks to read will also fit in and help to prevent the summer slump in reading skills.
Your child will be the envy of fellow campers, which will give them something to talk about and improve social skills. Kids also need down time writing and reading to maintain their academic skills while providing a connection to home and family.
Encourage all family members from toddlers to parents to stamp, draw, scribble and write. You can’t say I love you enough, especially when you can’t say it in person.
